Just what I needed
This time of the quarter my brain thinks nonstop about all my projects, it’s the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning and I really have to concentrate hard to put those thoughts away when I get into bed at night, otherwise I just toss and turn. This video was the perfect distraction, I didn’t think about my work while I watched it, I was truely mesmerized, inspired and in awe.
Enjoy!
Google is GRREAT!

Google maps is now adding photos of streets, houses, parks. Anywhere you click on the map a photo pops up of that location. Click here and then click anywhere in the blue map area and you can see what that street looks like! Who takes all these photos? There are so many!
Oh and you can zoom in on the photo…look in people’s windows if you like, which could be not so great Click on the white arows to move up and down the street.
Here’s To Staying Up All Night
Sleep When You Die
Read the last paragraph, it talks about how when you get tired the right side of the brain takes over…hmmmm.
Beautiful Things Take Time
A few years back I saw an amazing video, a collection of short films by William Kentridge, a South African artist who works with charcoal, prints, collages, stop-animation, film and theater to create extremely inspirational pieces. Its funny how the brain remembers and forgets. I had forgotten his name, all I remembered were his thought provoking images. And the feeling I got when I watched his film that most likely took months and months to create because every image he drew with charcoal he would then erase and draw some more so that it came to life before your eyes. So I’ve been on a google hunt to find his name and his works, which wasnt easy because this is all I knew: artist that draws and erases on film, anyway after a day or two I found him but I am still looking for the film.
Here is a wonderful quote from him: “The drawings don’t start with ‘a beautiful mark’. It has to be a mark of something out there in the world. It doesn’t have to be an accurate drawing, but it has to stand for an observation, not something that is abstract, like an emotion.”
Here is a great article on him.
Here are some of his pieces.
And here is what he is up to now.
This video isnt the one I was looking for but very beautiful non the less. I love how you can see where he has erased, its so simple yet there is so much story…oh the power of the pencil.
Enjoy!
Oh Technology!
A breakthrough in small flexible, thin as paper TV screens from Sony. “In the future, it could get wrapped around a lamppost or a person’s wrist, even worn as clothing,” said Sony spokesman. “Perhaps it can be put up like wallpaper.” Sound familiar (think Fahrenheit 451). It really is true that anything you imagine can come true… but is that always a good thing?
